Was what it was just 24 hours ago. Much fewer hours than that, Joe and I was huffing and puffing our way with the boxes transported from what was once my hidey-hole towards the three-room apartment that has now become my fort.
Establishing a connection with a house you are going to call home has always been a bit foreign to me. I almost never put enough effort in it. It somehow felt like how my mom left me at a relative's house whom I wasn't too keen about, nor was I close to them. It kinda puts me out of my element.
Since the rest has moved in a few months earlier, they've filled in the apartment with their belongings. They (or we) have built in cabinets, cupboards, full-length mirrors, washing machine, stove, so, there isn't much I can contribute. Therefore, one of my efforts to make it feel homie for me was to get my own study desk and chair in my room!
What I can say about the place is, it's great! We have friendly neighbours, whom Joe has gotten to know before I do - he had to borrow a hammer and a screwdriver to assemble my Ikea desk and chair but instead the Uncle gave him a pestle simultaneously flashing his hairy front to him.
And we have a washing machine fuckit!
Also, ada hose dalam toilet! God knows how I fail with gayung, my aim is so bad.
And this is Nina, my roommate.
Nawh, kidding. She works as a part time Starbuck-er. No really, I don't know what her post is. She's also my classmate and she is crazy about Arashi. Like MAD crazy. The first thing she showed me on our first night together was her Japanese magazines with these creepy dudes with mysteriously thinly shaped brows on it.
"Kau dah tengok origami aku tak?" Was the next thing she talked about with her shrill high-pitched voice. To cut to the chase, she's madly fascinated with anything Japanese or Korean. Not too sure about the latter but the first gets a Hell Yes nod from everyone in our class.
The rest of the household includes Miss Van der Woodsen (I live on the Upper East Side, brahh), and Rina.
With this I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude to those who has sheltered me during my squatting days. Sorry makan space! Thank you Kak Amy, Nabila, and seluruh warga Puri Aiyu (haha).
Tell me you miss me already! (Cos I miss you people)
