a. Give your best attempt to prove them wrong.
b. Don't give a fucking bleep about it.
I always resort to option b. just 'cos most of the time, I can't be bothered about it, but sometimes, I secretly do option a. after and come back to do option b. for the final touch. Yada, yada, yada. No disclaimer you can hang big enough to your neck to stop people from judging you.
