Walk on through the rain.

I was once a broken toy, collecting dust on the shelf, assured myself that I'll forever be plagued with trust issues. I was a wreck, doubtlessly believed that I could never be truly happy in the relationship department. But hey, I was nothing a certain Joe Jr. can't mend back together.

This man taught me that honesty really is the best policy. Three years together and he showed me just how much he knows I'm worth. That, boys and girls, will forever be a winner. We were like the perfect crime-fighting partners, drawing chalk lines all over the city, cleaning the streets off villains. For every second I felt ugly throughout my previous relationship, he made me feel effortlessly pretty. He taught me to appreciate myself, my every quirks and flaws, something a certain douchebag never did. Everything was well worth it.

But as much as you wish you're not ever going to age a year older, life comes barging through your door, baring serious life decisions in front of you.

It was inevitable.
It sucks.

Everything happens for a reason, yes. God loaned me you after I wasted six years of my life on something so idiotic, I can never comprehend why I did what I did. And because of that, we emerged out of this one as better versions of ourselves. It's all for the good of the team. The sons (daughters, in your case) of bitches that are going to be with us next would only have us to thank! (Kidding?)

I'd like to believe we'll remain the best of friends after this like we promised. Who else will I break up with and can still have a laugh while tears are still coursing down our faces?

And so the curtain closes down on us... like the end of a heart-wrenching Season Finale of your favourite TV show.

"You know I'm still going to support Liverpool after this, right?
"You better. Man U, eww~"
"Haha. Chelsea, Chel-shit~"

Inside joke.

Always,
Starbright :')

So long.

I wish I could say nothing is more comforting than a long hot shower, wearing an oversized tee, eating the savoury broasted chicken rice from Sugar Bun in bed, but alas..

I am just a human. And life happened.

It's going to be a really long night.

For the good of the team.

"So, how long have you and Joe been together? Hmm. So it's been almost 3 years since you rampas boyfriend orang ha?"

Mulut Uzair nang mintak cabik.

(Like all boyfriend poachers would say) I didn't steal him from anyone, he came to me! No surprises there, really. I understand some concerns regarding this matter but I have my own reasonings,

1 - They WEREN'T married. It wasn't like they're about to, too. And my best friend, Alau, who is a umm.. senior (he he) in this matter, assured me this.

2 - There may be times when both of them were good together in the past, but when Joe left her, it wasn't the same case anymore.

3 - While there's no promise that Joe and I will be together forevah, both of us and in fact, many others have openly admitted to us being a better pair, for now.

4 - Joe deserves to be with a better person. No, scratch that. He deserves The Very Best. *flexes muscles*

So, why would you stay with someone just because of the sole reason that you met them first when you're better off with someone else, whom you met later?

Why would you stay in a miserable relationship just because you've been with the same person for more than 4 years? Shouldn't relationships be much, much more than just keeping tabs on how many years you've been together?

If your boyfriend wants to leave you for another person, would that same boyfriend be worth fighting over? Why? He didn't seem to bother to do the same for you. Don't listen to the overrated Cheryl Cole. Last name pun 'Cole'. Never trust someone with a horrible ink job.

I know all of these may seem like excuses for me to be with someone else's boyfriend at the time but I've been through the same thing where my ex wanted to leave me for another girl. I fought for it. I won. But staying in the relationship after was useless because I can never forget what he did, nor can I ever fully forgive him for that. The break up was bad. Take my advice, if someone wants to leave you for another, let them. I wish I did.

I've yakked a lot about my boyfriend and it's safe to deduce that we compliment each other very well in so many matters.

These rules however do not apply to married couple. Never, ever try to steal a married man/woman. That is wrong in so many levels and you will forever be reminded by that. And I assure you, it is certainly nothing to be proud of.

Just in case you don't get it, #4 is a joke. Obviously, I kick asses for a living.

Reblogged.

From a Facebook comment he wrote on my wall on 28th October 2008.

Ten things why I love my Aysha so much:

1) Her obsession for things that are magical, her love for animals and her soft spot for less-fortunate beings makes her adorable!
2) She understands the need to love and enjoy good food!
3) She cheers hard for LFC, she gets just as upset at a defeat, she can name all the players and she hates Man ...United - perfect!
4) Her beautiful singing voice makes me melt on the inside, if only she could see it!
5) No matter how many different hairstyle she tries on, she'll look fine all the same. Natalie Imbruglia-short darling? By all means!
6) Her intelligent mind and the way she thinks makes her leagues above all bimbos united. And her English is excellent!
7) I cannot complete this list without mentioning she's got a great ass!
8) No matter how much she denies it but I really think she is a brilliant writer. Read her blog!
9) Her eyes. Those pretty, captivating set of eyes.
10) The way she loves me makes me feel like I'm the luckiest person on earth!

Pretty bummed that I can't find my way into my old private blog. But this will do for now.

Shining light.

I wish there is at least a day entrapped within so many other days that my mind does not wander off about you and the things I did for us - but even at the cost of erasing all the memories once and for all, I can't. I'd like to think that what I went through was inevitable, like the arrival of wisdom tooth we're all bound to painfully greet, and had teach me a valuable lesson I desperately need in order to level up to another chapter, to become whoever I'm supposed, destined to be. Oh, the joyeth of self-discovery and the treacherous journey we go through for it!

But alas, among the many lessons I foolishly tumbled upon throughout the whole ordeal, the most important lesson awaits at the end of it; that this too shall pass. Believe that there is light at the end of every tunnel.

Mine approached me with an outline of a tall silhouette with a hint of bushy curls slightly hidden under a cap on top of it. I should've anticipate what's to come when,

  • He corrected my spelling of an English word and some months later, beat me at Scrabble.
  • We were sitting on a log at the beach that one night while our friends huddled together at the side. The fire has burned out, the only light accompanying us was from the glistening moon sheltered by bits of branches of the towering trees, on top of our heads. Only a micro inch apart and he proceeded to tell me about the stars and constellations. And just that.
  • When I asked him after the first month of knowing each other, fully aware of what I was about to dive into, Do you have a girlfriend? Yes, he calmly answered, as composed as he could.
  • We didn't see each other for a week for the first time and when we did, he grabbed his guitar and sang to me I Miss You followed by Stellar by Incubus. And I just knew it wouldn't be the last of it.
  • We were on our sides, facing each other and he muttered, I love you, for the first time. Thank you, was all I could say at the time. And he didn't pursue the matter.

This man is a tall, recovering slouchie with a receeding hairline at 24, has a set of shoulders that wins me over and over again. He is incredibly smart, directs his arguments with valid points, truly passionate in whatever he does and inspires me to no end. He was my light at the end of That Long Narrow Winding Tunnel and continues to be the shining light at every ends I've managed to squirmed into, still.

Today during a lecture, I found my trail of thoughts wading backward towards you and I thought about him and how whatever I have now trumps whatever I had back then.

Rendang kicap?

Today, Snugglepuff went for an assignment at a mosque somewhere in the city. Being him, naturally, he divulged to me every thing that happened at the event - who came, what actually took place, yada yada when he reached one part,

"Oh tadi ada orang histeria! She was like.. curling.."

"Why are you telling me this?? I need to stay up and study after this!"

Without missing a beat, he cut in, "Tadi rendang nyaman! Warna hitam!"

Clear the ball!

I have this thing when it comes to being surrounded by people consuming alcoholic beverages. For whatever psychological reasons it may be, when I am around drunk friends, I have a slight tendency of acting like one, myself. Hey, if everyone is tipsy and acting a bit out of the loop, why should I contain myself? I figured. And I figured right! As spotted a few days before that when we had another trip to precious Sid's, when Alau had more than three glasses of mixed drinks, we were swooping the highway like a pair of crazy loons after, all the while shouting random remarks, that was, unfortunately, only hilarious at that time.

With conjunction to my boyfriend's birthday last week (our birthday celebration can go as long as a few months as long as Starbright says it is!), we had another bout of round at Sid's on Saturday, this time with David and Panai. Sat at the bar at at an awkward L-angle where we had to turn our backs to talk the the other pair on the other side. We sipped our drinks and shared a few conversations as more faces flooded the pub as midnight beckoned.

Things only took an exciting swerve when the football match between Chelsea and Manchester City kicked off. I was not rooting for any team, initially. But by the time the first goal was scored, I was clapping my hands for each goal that followed afterwards and gasping at every misses and near goals. The whole pub seemed hyped up by everyone's cheer for Manchester City, except for some anomalous number of Chelsea fan. With my most loathed footballer, whom ties with Christiano Gaynaldo, Drogba in a team, you won't ever see me putting my hands together for that side of the field.

It became manic towards the end of the 90 minutes with everyone's eyes fixated on the screen above our heads. It felt good.

Also, we met up with Onn shortly afterwards!

It was a great Saturday evening. Hope you had a wonderful one yourself, too!

Fantastic Four, no more?

Dear Mojo, we miss the Miri you!

It was a good day to sweat our pores out from walking in rounds in the park at night.

One of my favourite things.

The smell of battered butter, this time mixed with one teaspoon of vanilla essence, Philly cheese and sweetened condensed milk.

Today was our Roman Cheesecake day, a
pparently, the easiest cheesecake mix recipe! It's like Batik cake, only instead of brown black, it's yellow. I think our holiday plan is quite fitting, we attended our 5th cardio class yesterday. What's next in line after cardio? Why, cheesecake of course!

Cheesy

I love this picture. I appear tall only glitch is I am not, Alau is just shorter than I am.

Cheesy

Aside from the ingredients I've mentioned above, Roman Cheesecake also requires biscuits and fresh milk to dip the biscuits into before arranging itself in creamy cheese/butter layer.

Cheesy

Arguably, my favourite part.

Cheesy

Dip and layer.

After the whole batch of butter is done, the following step is to leave it chilled in the fridge. In our case, we couldn't wait that long, we placed it in the freezer for an hour and a half. I think. It took us one whole evening to be ready, by the way.

I say, every minute is worth for this.

Cheesy

Hmm.. I can just scoop it with a spoon next time I make more Roman Cheesecake. So, y'know, my fingers won't get smeared by the delicious batter of butter and cheese and condensed milk. I think that's pretty rational.

Whose way on the highway?

We were on our way to the land where stinkin' rempits roamed the highway, where faith of the Malay residents rely on whether there is a different belief residing next door, where skinnies paired up with a pair of slippers and oily faces ruled - 'Cos that's how they roll, and where there is little population of rational people, late last night.

The clock struck 15 past 11, red lights flashed and stretched for as long as our eyes could reach on the three-laned road.

There must be some accident in front! I voiced out. We picked up our conversation from the traffic jam to something else we could channel our mild frustration on. A close friend's birthday, football jersey, OCD, lousy song covers, amateur videos (which reminds me..) and something else I can't remember.

10 minutes down the road and we were still moving at a kitten's pace - 'cos snail wouldn't really fit the metaphor. I was getting impatient, and the petrol light was already blinking.

Someone better die in that accident! I bellowed.

Some time later.

Don't tell me.. That was what caused the traffic jam?! His turn to fume as we passed by a vacated car parked on the emergency lane. It had charcoal-like markings on the front and the sides.

Oh.. hangus.. He hesitated before switching to volume 8 -

BUT IT'S NOT EVEN IN FLAME ANYMORE! His voice clamored against the insides of the car, reverberating.

I KNOW! I followed en suite, echoing his frustration.

Of course, if that bothers you, we were just kidding.

Hairymarks.

The remarks I received on my new do today.

1. Cool dowh rambut kau, from Bella. Upon seeing me waking up this morning.
2. Cantik. Tapi rambut je lah cantik. From Anip. Pujian alang alang has landed you again in my Hatelist of the day (which I haven't had the will to summon to compile them just yet).
3. Eee kenapa rambut kau messy?? Say this in a high pitched voice and voila, you just did a Nina!
4. Rambut baru, Aysha? Comel lah, Fidz exclaimed when she saw me walking in BT (Bilik Thesis).
5. Ha ah! Comel. Biha followed en suite. Biha ni, kalau Fidz cakap A, dia pun gerenti cakap A jugak. Bestfrghen lah katakan.
6. Kan? Macam budak-budak. Fidz continued. Whuuut.
7. Aysha memang macam budak-budak lah! Ruby mencelah. Ewah ewah. To which I rushed out of the room yelling in exasperation, Tak nak lah macam budak-budak dah! Aku nak sexy! Aaaarghhh!
8. Hahaha apsal rambut kau? Farid asked. Ni kawan bertuah ni.
9. Eh kau macam budak liar lah. Farid +1.
10. Rambut kau reminds me of Bella lah, Seri commented. As in Bella fucking Swan. Is there any other celebrity I hate more than Kristin Stewart? Oh yea. Lots.
11. Macam Korea lah!!! Okay kalau nak quote Nina kena banyak exclamation marks. Because that's just her. Don't forget to add her shrilly voice.
12. Eee ye lah macam Korea! Sebab kalau cakap sekali je tak mencukupi kuota.
13. Ha ahh lah macam Korea!! Okay kuota dah cukup.
14. Eh macam budak laki Korea!! Okay, okay Nina dah kena ban dari comment lagi.
15. Cool lah macam Little Jenny. Bella again after I told her the remarks I got from today. I simply said, I hate Little Jenny.

But most of all, my Joe Jr. likes it. : ) Although he can't seem to decide which hairdo he prefers more. As if I have demon inside my body that craves for boy-meat if he's telling the truth!

Here's wishing for a nice, productive week for everyone. Amin. Also, for me to not break fast before the real hour. HAH. Amin ramai-ramai ni!
